In our maths lessons so far we have covered addition and subtraction by counting forwards and backwards on a number line or hundred square. If your child is confident you can begin to support them to add two digit numbers by adding the tens by counting down and then adding the ones by counting across (spider counting!) For example, 32 + 24
1.Using the hundred square put your finger on 32
2. Count on in tens twice, by moving your finger down the 100 square
3. Then from 52 using your finger, count on 4, what number have you landed on?
