Welcome to Reception!

Thank you to all of the wonderful volunteers who helped with Beach day on Friday.  The children had so much fun enjoying their ice creams, building sandcastles and paddling as well as all of the amazing crafts and cooking.  It was a great way to conclude our seaside topic.

As we approach the end of term we will be starting to collect in reading books and high frequency words.  Although we will read with the children next week, we won’t send home their guided reading book and we will keep their yellow reading records which we will pass on to their Year 1 teachers.  The children will be able to bring home a ‘home reader’ until Wednesday after which we will keep the books at school.  If you have any school reading books that you find under the bed or behind the couch over the summer holidays, do please return them to us.  We promise not to judge and will just be pleased to receive them!

We will send PE kits home at the beginning of next week as we will not have a dance lesson on Wednesday.  Mrs Reilly (Owen’s mum from Orange Class) has generously offered to come in to run a fun music session for each class!

The Celebration of Work evening for the whole school takes place on Tuesday 18th July from 5-7.30pm.  We look forward to you popping in to meet us in the classrooms to look at the children’s work and celebrate a year of incredible learning.  You will be able to take home the children’s Learning Journey with you too!

With best wishes,

The Reception Team
