Welcome to Year 1!

We have had a wonderful week. The children had a lovely day experiencing what it was like being a Victorian child on Monday and were able to write about their experience during Literacy. It was a fantastic day and we all learnt loads!

Next week in Literacy, the children will be gathering information and make a poster about Queen Victoria. Therefore, on Tuesday, "Queen Vicotira" will be visiting in year one to answer any questions that the children want to know. We are all very excited about this!

In Maths, we have been working on fractions and have been looking at halves and quarters of a shape. Next week, we will be continuing to work on fractions but will be learning about fractions of a number.

On Friday 19th January, Blue class will be doing forest schools. Please do not forget to pack appropriate clothing for your child as we go out in all weathers.

Every Friday, we will still be doing football for P.E.  Just a reminder, if the field is wet and not safe for the children, football will then take place on either the playground or the hall. Therefore, it is important that all children have appropriate footwear. Please ensure that all children have trainers and not plimsoles and a plastic bag to put their muddy shoes in afterwards. Thanks.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Thank you all for your support.

Year 1 team.
