Welcome to Year 4!

We cannot believe how quickly this summer term is flying by!  With only 2 weeks to go until  the end of term, we will be doing lots of transition activities with the children to help them prepare for year 5 and their new classes.

In maths, we will continue to build on our problem solving skills and apply them practically to investigations.  In literacy, we will be using Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as inspiration to design our own chocolate factory and describe settings.  The children will need to bring in a box and any junk modelling bits they may have at home for the DT activity of building a new room for the chocolate factory. Polar Bears will need this for tomorrow and the rest of year 4 for Tuesday.

We will be playing rounders in our PE lessons and continuing our work on survival in our topic work.  Please will you make sure your child has their PE kit in school.

The weather is incredibly hot and the classrooms are also very warm.  We are encouraging the children to drink plenty of water to keep comfortable.  Please can you help us with this by ensuring your child has a drinking bottle in school every day.

Just a reminder that year 4 have swimming tomorrow so will need their swimming kits in school.

Thank you for your help with the above.  We hope you had a lovely weekend.

Kind regards.

The year 4 team
